Villa On-Site Installation Case — Motorized Ceiling Curtain Track Solution

KYOK completed an on-site villa installation using a motorized ceiling curtain track system — quiet, concealed, and smart-home ready. Read the challenges, solution, and client feedback.

KYOK recently delivered a full on-site installation for a high-end villa using a motorized ceiling curtain track system. The project focused on fully concealed ceiling mounting, ultra-quiet operation, and seamless smart-home integration across multiple large glazing areas.

The installation covered three main areas: a 6.8 m living-room span of floor-to-ceiling glazing, the master bedroom sliding window, and a long corridor window. All zones required ceiling-recessed tracks that remain invisible after finish work while delivering reliable, quiet motorized operation.

Our Solution

1. Custom low-profile ceiling recessed track
We specified a slim aluminum profile designed for limited plenum depth so the track and carriage system fit inside the existing secondary ceiling. Profiles were engineered to sit flush with a narrow reveal plate for a seamless finish.

2. High-performance brushless motors and synchronized drive
For the large bedroom span, we used a dual-motor master/slave configuration with encoder feedback to ensure uniform travel and tension. Brushless DC motors were selected for longevity and quiet operation (measured ~35–38 dB on site).

3. Smart control integration
We provided Wi-Fi/Zigbee gateway modules to interface with the owner’s central control system. The system supports voice control (Alexa / Google), scene automation (e.g., “movie”, “away”, “sunset”), and scheduling via mobile app.

4. Safety & overload protection
Motors include electronic limit switches, overload/obstruction detection, and manual override for emergency operation during power loss.

Installation Highlights

  • Seamless ceiling finish: after installation, only a slim reveal line is visible; the track itself is fully concealed.
  • Large span synchronization: the 6.8 m living window uses master + slave motors with synchronization error < 5 mm after fine tuning.
  • Quiet operation: measured running noise between 35–38 dB—much lower than conventional brushed motor systems.
  • Practical safety: manual release and mechanical pull-down options provided for power outages.
